Case Report: Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia with MYD88 L265P mutation
Posted on
In this case report, the authors present a case of a patient with cutaneous Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia with MYD88 L265P mutation in the skin but not in the bone marrow.
In Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, the skin is rarely infiltrated by neoplastic cells but when it is, it appears similar to marginal zone lymphoma. Since the MYD88 L265P mutation is linked with Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia it can often be used to differentiate between the two disorders.
