EULAR Updates Recommendation for Lupus Nephritis Management

Complete response by 12 months should be the treatment goal for lupus nephritis, according to recommendations by EULAR and the European Renal Association–European Dialysis and Transplant Association (ERA-EDTA). The recommendations, published in in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, update the 2012 EULAR/ERA–EDTA recommendations for the management of lupus nephritis.

Additional recommendations include management of end-stage kidney disease and the use of glucocorticoids and calcineurin inhibitors.
