The authors note that their review represents the first of its kind, offering an overview of podcasting specifically tailored to Allergy and Immunology.

In their investigation, the researchers identified a total of 47 podcasts related to the field. Among these, 10 podcasts were dedicated to Immunology, while 37 covered allergy topics more broadly. Notably, a significant portion of the allergy-focused podcasts—16 out of 37—were produced and hosted by patients and caregivers, highlighting the diverse perspectives present in the podcasting landscape.

Drawing from their research findings and personal experiences in podcast development, the authors emphasize the significant role that Allergy and Immunology podcasts can play in disseminating medical knowledge and clinical information to the public. Furthermore, they underscore the potential of these podcasts to enrich the educational experience of trainees in the specialty and to support the ongoing professional development of Allergists and Immunologists.
