USPSTF doesn’t recommend type 2 diabetes screening for kids

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force does not recommend screening for type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents without known diabetes or prediabetes or symptoms of diabetes or prediabetes due to lack of evidence, according to a statement published in JAMA.
The task force noted that because “some youth with prediabetes may revert to normal glycemia without intervention,” there are potential harms associated with screening.
