Mobile health intervention shows promise for caregivers of children with growth hormone deficiency

Posted on

A recent study highlighted the potential benefits of the Adhera Caring Digital Program (ACDP), a mobile health (mHealth) solution designed to support caregivers of children undergoing growth hormone therapy. Caregivers often experience emotional stress that can impact their child’s adherence to treatment and overall quality of life, making psychological support an essential component of pediatric care.

In the study, 10 caregivers used the ACDP for 1 month. The digital intervention provided personalized education, motivational messages, and mental well-being exercises, such as mindfulness and breathing techniques. Researchers then conducted individual interviews to assess the user experience.

Caregivers found the program easy to use, helpful, and effective in addressing their challenges. The ACDP was particularly valuable at the start of treatment and, for some families, helped strengthen the parent-child bond.
